Flavor Profile
Emperor has a mild but distinctive flavor and is quite likable to all age groups. It cooks up very firm, almost chewy, and is difficult to flake apart on the plate. Emperor must not be overcooked as it can harden the meat.
Habitat
Emperor is a Sea fish that mainly lives nearshore and offshore coral reefs, lagoons, seagrass beds, mangrove swamps, and coastal sand and rock areas.
Colour
Emperor has a yellowish or bronze body, lighter below, centers of many scales with a white or light blue spot, sometimes irregular dark indistinct bars on sides; fins are whitish or yellowish, pelvic fins are dusky, the edge of the dorsal fin is reddish.
